The thing that interested me the most about the article on the color blue is that so many cultures made no reference to the color at all. It was weird to think about people just not seeing a color that we see in everyday life. Another thing that I found really interesting about this article is that fact that the color isn’t even mentioned in the certain texts, it’s like to them the color wasn’t even a thing. Which I’m pretty sure is impossible because we get to see colors through light and they still had light back then to see the colors. In terms of relationship between languages it shows that all of these cultures were seeing the same things and all thought the same way. Even though they were in different regions of the world they still we having the same experiences with the color blue. But to me the people back then just didn’t have a word for it. I think they still saw the color they just didn’t recognize it and maybe they just began to ignore it.

My experience with journalism is very little in today’s world. One of the purest forms of journalism we see today is the newspaper and I don’t even read the newspaper my parents get everyday. I mean I’ll look at the sports and read the scores of the local games every now and then but I never read any of the stuff. I personally just think it’s boring and I don’t really think it’s interesting enough to read. But maybe I should start to care about this stuff a little more because it is my community and I should be more invested into what is going on and the things I could possibly impact myself. The new models that were proposed in this article could be the things that get journalism back to some form of popularity. They see themselves as people in the same group as teachers and other community officials. They are trying to give information to the people in their community and let people know all the good and bad things going on in the community. So in my personal opinion I don’t think that journalism will make a roaring comeback in the United States and become widely popular again but I think people should appreciate journalists more than they do now.

To me a community discourse is a group of people that come together and write about topics that they all have in common. They can either get together or they can just join a reddit group chat and talk about things that they all have in common. Personally I understand what the word means and how to use it but it is also a new term to me and I’m glad I can easily understand this topic. UCBA can definitely be considered a community discourse because we are all in the same boat by attending a branch campus. The branch campus is just completely different from a main campus not just because of the numbers but because of the relationship with teachers and your other classmates. Branch campuses allow for more one on one with these people so it could allow for a better college experience for some people.
