List of Possible Profiles
- My friend Darius Hairston, has been to tree universities in 3 semesters.
- A non profit organization member, could ask them why they do what they do.
- Talk to someone in admissions, could ask them what they all look for when admitting people into the college.
- Interview a professor in my major, could talk to them about why they chose what to do and how they were able to accomplish those goals.
- My brother Kyle Smith, currently in culinary school and is going to graduate this semester and would like to know about his experience in school in North Carolina.
For The Activist to profile a particular person, group or organization I feel like they have to be interesting and be able to be the type of person that can help the community and others in the community. I feel like the Activist is still a professional newspaper in a sense that it’s a voice for college kids to get their words out there and allow people to see what they can do. As each person begins to brainstorm more and more I feel it is important to remember that you are looking for people that have either impacted you or the community that you are involved in. I would be looking for someone that has an interesting story and would be the right person for a good profile. I think the profiles shape the community of UCBA because it shows off the people that are behind the scenes at the branch campus. I think people sometimes think that just because it’s a branch campus there isn’t that many people help to run the campus. But in reality there are many people that put their time and effort into making Blue Ash run as smoothly as possible. Also these profiles could be something that people could end up really enjoying to read and could actually end up getting some useful information and be able to read some very interesting stories that people could generally great to read. I also feel it shapes the way that we can grow as writers and advance through the class. I feel as if doing a profile like this would be good for my first assignment in this class because it could be a nice intro to the class and could allow me to advance my writing in the direction that I want it to go in.
I think one of my many chooses my favorite one I could do the one about my friend Darius. I think his story is very interesting and could really shed light onto what made him decide to leave not one but two colleges and end up at UC, where he is currently in his second semester. I think the profile could be very interesting and allow my friend Darius to share his story. So in conclusion I feel as I am on my way to completing this profile and first assignment. I still have a long way to go but I feel like I understand the concept and am looking forward to taking on this challenge.
